The Texas Directors Credential with ChildCareEd es una credencial aprobada para administradores de guarderías emitida por una organización profesional y aprobada por Licensing. By the end of this training, the learner will be able to:

Criteria to earn CEUs:
Certificates are awarded when the following criteria have been met by the learner:
  1. Class has been paid in full
  2. All material has been reviewed
  3. All review questions and final test have been completed with a passing score of 80% or higher.
Learning Assessment Method:
Learners will be assessed through questions after every section is completed. Learners will not be allowed to proceed to the next section of the training until all questions have been answered correctly. Learners will be presented with a final test composed of true/false and multiple choice questions. Upon successful completion of the training, learners will receive their certificate by email.
Learning Methodology:
Online material will be presented in the form of slides, accompanied with speech. Videos will be used to demonstrate ideas and concepts. Charts and tables will be used for illustration.
Logistics/Required Technology:
A stable internet connection is required for the completion of this course. Users are highly encouraged to take their online course on Google Chrome on either a laptop or desktop computer. Speakers and/or headphones are also required to hear speech.

You are purchasing a session of an online training that includes online assessments. Your certificate will be emailed to you once you pass the final exam with a passing grade of 80%.

To receive your Texas Director Credential Training Certificate, you must:

  1. Complete the full 32-hour online Texas Director Credential training, and
  2. Upload documentation that confirms you meet the eligibility requirements (listed below).
    Our team reviews your documents. If anything is missing or unclear, we’ll message you with what to fix.

Eligibility requirements and accepted documents

1) Age requirement (must be 21+)

Upload ONE of the following:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • State-issued ID card
  • Passport (photo page)

What we check: your date of birth shows you are at least 21.

2) Education requirement (high school diploma or equivalent)

Upload ONE of the following:

  • High school diploma
  • GED certificate
  • Official or unofficial transcript showing high school completion or a higher degree
  • College/university diploma (Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, etc.)

Tip: If your name has changed since graduation, upload a supporting document (e.g., marriage certificate) so we can match the records.

3) Current CPR & First Aid (must be current/not expired)

Upload ONE of the following:

  • A CPR/First Aid card or certificate showing:

    • Your name
    • Course title (CPR and First Aid)
    • Issue date and/or expiration date
    • Training provider name/logo

Important: If the card/certificate is expired or missing an expiration date, we may request an updated copy or additional proof from the provider.

4) Work experience (minimum 2 years in a licensed child care / early education setting)

You must show at least two years of experience in a licensed child care/early education setting.

Upload ONE of the following (preferred options):

  • Employer letter on company letterhead that includes:
    • Your full name
    • Facility name and (ideally) license/permit number
    • Your role/title
    • Employment dates (start date and end date, or “to present”)
    • Number of hours worked (if available)
    • Supervisor/Director name, signature, and contact info
  • Employment Verification Form (the form in your Texas Director Credential application—completed and signed by your employer)

If you cannot obtain a letter or the form, we may accept supporting documentation such as:

  • Pay stubs (showing employer name and your name) covering a reasonable period
  • W-2 forms or tax records showing the employer name and year(s) worked
  • A signed statement from a supervisor (even if not on letterhead) that includes the same details as above
    (We may request follow-up verification if it’s missing key details.)

What we check: that the experience totals at least two years and is connected to a licensed setting.

5) Clear criminal background check documentation

Upload ONE of the following:

  • A document that clearly indicates a cleared/passed background check (or “eligible” status), such as:

    • A state licensing/registry clearance notice
    • An employer-issued background clearance letter
    • A background check eligibility letter/document that shows your name and cleared status

What we check: your name is shown and the result indicates you are cleared/eligible.

6) Completed Texas Director Credential Application

Upload the required pages of the application as a PDF:

  • Page 1 (completed)
  • Page 2 (signed)
  • Page 5 (Employment Verification Form) — if you are using the form option for experience

Tip: Make sure signatures and dates are visible.

If you are missing a document

If you cannot provide one of the required items, you may upload a Texas Licensing waiver that applies to the missing requirement. If you upload a waiver, include all pages so the waiver details are clear.

  • Your name should match across documents (or include proof of a name change).
