B. Objectives / Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this training, the learner will be able to:
  1. Describe the importance of monitoring the family child care environment for potential risks.
  2. Recognize the needs of individualized learning in family child care.
  3. Demostrar comprensión del desarrollo cerebral en niños pequeños.
  4. Identify tips and strategies for successful mixed-age group instruction.
  5. Demostrar comprensión del desarrollo físico, emocional y motor en niños de cinco a doce años
  6. Demonstrate the benefits of mixed-age grouping in early childhood education.
  7. Reconocer la importancia de una actitud positiva y respetuosa al trabajar con todos los niños y sus familias.
  8. Identificar formas de interactuar de manera respetuosa y apropiada en una variedad de contextos culturales
  9. Identificar recursos para derivación y servicios especializados.
  10. Describe las etapas del desarrollo emocional en los niños pequeños.
  11. Demostrar comprensión de cómo implementar un Plan de Educación Individual.
  12. Identificar los distintos tipos de barreras para grupos de edades mixtas con discapacidades y las formas de adaptar el plan de estudios para ajustarlo a sus necesidades.
  13. Demostrar comprensión de cómo la orientación positiva promueve un desarrollo social y emocional saludable.
  14. Define el significado de profesionalismo en el cuidado infantil.
  15. Definir las habilidades básicas que los niños deben tener cuando comienzan el jardín de infantes
  16. Demostrar comprensión sobre cómo implementar un Plan Individual de Apoyo Familiar.
  17. Identificar los signos de abuso y negligencia infantil.
  18. Demostrar comprensión de cómo una enfermedad crónica puede afectar el desarrollo.
  19. Demostrar comprensión de cómo estar abierto a nuevas perspectivas y a personas diversas.
  20. Identificar las etapas y los hitos del desarrollo de 1 a 5 años
  21. Dé ejemplos de herramientas que registran y comunican información crítica a otros miembros del personal y a las familias.
  22. Demostrar una comprensión de diversas perspectivas y navegar la ambigüedad y la complejidad que ello conlleva.
  23. Identificar los componentes de las relaciones positivas con los niños, los compañeros de trabajo y las familias.
  24. Demostrar habilidades de comunicación que faciliten la comunicación intercultural, incluidas habilidades efectivas de escucha
  25. Definir prácticas saludables para mitigar la propagación de gérmenes y disminuir la probabilidad de SIDS en bebés y niños pequeños.
  26. Reconocer la importancia de la resolución de problemas y de las estrategias para la resolución de conflictos con los miembros de la comunidad y las familias
  27. Reconocer estrategias para conferencias efectivas con las familias.
  28. Demonstrate understanding of the research done on mixed-age group instruction.
  29. Explain the challenges behind mixed-age group instruction and strategies to overcome them.
  30. Give examples of activities considered appropriate for mixed-age groups.
Criteria to earn CEUs:
Certificates are awarded when the following criteria have been met by the learner:
  1. Class has been paid in full
  2. All material has been reviewed
  3. All review questions and final test have been completed with a passing score of 80% or higher.
Learning Assessment Method:
Learners will be assessed through questions after every section is completed. Learners will not be allowed to proceed to the next section of the training until all questions have been answered correctly. Learners will be presented with a final test composed of true/false and multiple choice questions. Upon successful completion of the training, learners will receive their certificate by email.
Learning Methodology:
Online material will be presented in the form of slides, accompanied with speech. Videos will be used to demonstrate ideas and concepts. Charts and tables will be used for illustration.
Logistics/Required Technology:
A stable internet connection is required for the completion of this course. Users are highly encouraged to take their online course on Google Chrome on either a laptop or desktop computer. Speakers and/or headphones are also required to hear speech.
