CDA Subject Area 1: Planificación de un entorno de aprendizaje seguro y saludable

Este curso de 10 horas proporciona a los proveedores de cuidado infantil los conocimientos esenciales para proteger a los niños pequeños. Aprenda a crear espacios seguros en interiores y exteriores, prevenir lesiones y fomentar un desarrollo saludable. Adquiera experiencia en nutrición infantil, prácticas de sueño seguro y en el manejo de enfermedades. Comprenda la importancia de una supervisión adecuada, la selección de materiales y la disposición del aula para fomentar el aprendizaje y el crecimiento. Al dominar estas habilidades críticas, los proveedores de cuidado infantil pueden crear entornos de apoyo donde los niños prosperen y alcancen su máximo potencial.

B. Objectives / Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this training, the learner will be able to:
  1. Demonstrate an understanding of how ongoing preventive health and wellness care affects child development
  2. Demuestre comprensión de cómo el juego promueve el desarrollo.
  3. Demuestra comprensión de la importancia de la disposición y el ambiente del aula.
  4. Identificar estrategias para brindar una atención apropiada a bebés y niños pequeños con problemas de salud crónicos
  5. Identificar prácticas para el manejo de enfermedades, dolencias, alergias y la administración de medicamentos en el cuidado infantil.
  6. Define shaken baby syndrome and abusive head trauma
  7. Identificar prácticas seguras en la prevención y la respuesta ante alergias alimentarias y otras en el entorno de cuidado infantil.
  8. Demonstrate understanding of the harmful effects of excessive sun exposure in infants and young children.
  9. Explique las pautas adecuadas sobre el uso de la cuna para que los cuidadores garanticen un sueño seguro para bebés y niños pequeños.
  10. Demonstrate an understanding of how to keep children safe while in vehicles and school buses.
  11. Demonstrate Understanding of Meal Planning for young children.
  12. Identificar estrategias para promover principios sólidos de salud y seguridad en el cuidado infantil.
  13. Identify strategies to ensure appropriate supervision.
  14. Identify the importance of child nutrition and nutrition training for staff in childcare.

  17. Define Building and Physical Premises Safety.

Criteria to earn CEUs:
Certificates are awarded when the following criteria have been met by the learner:
  1. Class has been paid in full
  2. All material has been reviewed
  3. All review questions and final test have been completed with a passing score of 80% or higher.
Learning Assessment Method:
Learners will be assessed through questions after every section is completed. Learners will not be allowed to proceed to the next section of the training until all questions have been answered correctly. Learners will be presented with a final test composed of true/false and multiple choice questions. Upon successful completion of the training, learners will receive their certificate by email.
Learning Methodology:
Online material will be presented in the form of slides, accompanied with speech. Videos will be used to demonstrate ideas and concepts. Charts and tables will be used for illustration.
Logistics/Required Technology:
A stable internet connection is required for the completion of this course. Users are highly encouraged to take their online course on Google Chrome on either a laptop or desktop computer. Speakers and/or headphones are also required to hear speech.
