ChildCareEd is an IdahoSTARS Approved Training Organization. You may use ChildCareEd courses to complete training for state and city daycare licensing requirements, the Idaho Child Care Program (ICCP), IdahoSTARS Steps to Quality (STQ), and the IdahoSTARS Professional Development System (PDS).

Annual training requirements:

Daycare centers, Family Daycare Homes, and Group Daycare Facility staff are required to complete 4 hours of continuing education in child development areas relating to childcare annually.

Level requirements based on Boise City Code 3-6-18:

Level I (assistant teacher):

• Fourteen (14) hours of training annually

Level II (teacher):

• CDA Credential
  • CDA Preschool
  • CDA Infant and Toddler
  • CDA Family Childcare
• Ten (10) hours of training annually

Level III (senior teacher):

• Degree
• Eight (8) hours of training annually to include the areas of:
  • Childhood development
  • Childhood education
  • Childhood psychology
  • Business management
  • Safety or health 

RISE

For registry credit, submit your ChildCareEd training certificate to the IdahoSTARS Professional Development System by logging into your RISE account.

Group Admin Program

The Group Admin Program allows you to purchase clock hours at a flat price and then assign classes to staff members. This gives you control over your budget and training plan. Purchase hours for staff to ensure they complete their training requirements.

• Record-keeping tools to manage continuing education requirements
• Group Administrators can see their staff's progress in assigned courses as well as test scores

Subscription Services

With Subscription Services, you can purchase training hours at a low one-time cost. There are three tiers to choose from, depending on your needs:

• Basic: Unlimited online training
• Plus: Unlimited online training plus online CDA training courses
• Instructor-Led: Unlimited online training, plus all CDA online training courses, and one Virtual Class each month led by a trained Educational Specialist
