ChildCareEd is an Exempt Training Organization through the Trainer Approval Program (TAP) of the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), Division of Early Learning (DEL). ChildCareEd courses may be used to fulfill preservice and annual in-service training hours for those working in Child development centers, Child development homes, also called family child care homes, and Expanded child development homes. 

Preservice training requirements for all providers and caregivers:

• Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases 
• Prevention of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and Use of Safe Sleep Practices
• Administration of Medicine 
• Prevention of and response to allergic reactions 
• Building and Physical Premises Safety 
• Shaken Baby Syndrome 
• Responding to Emergencies 
• Handling and Storage of Hazardous Materials
• Appropriate Precautions in Transportation of Children
• Abuse and Neglect: Signs and Reporting
• First Aid & CPR Blended

Teacher and Assistant Teacher training requirements:

• The Child Development Credential (CDA)
• 12 hours of annual training

Caregivers and Associate Caregivers in Child Development Homes training requirements:

• The Child Development Credential (CDA)
• 12 hours of annual training

Director training requirements:

• Degree coursework
• 12 hours of annual training

With Subscription Services, you can purchase training hours at a low one-time cost. There are three tiers to choose from, depending on your needs:

• Basic: Unlimited online training
• Plus: Unlimited online training plus online CDA training courses
• Instructor-Led: Unlimited online training, plus all CDA online training courses, and one Virtual Class each month led by a trained Educational Specialist
