What ChildCareEd’s California Approval Means

ChildCareEd is an approved training organization through the California Early Care & Education Workforce Registry, meaning our online professional development courses are formally recognized within California’s early childhood system.
Our trainings:

  • Qualify for Registry credit when completing professional development in California
  • Support annual training requirements (15 hours) for child care providers in licensed programs
  • Meet professional development expectations for early educators renewing Child Development Permits
  • Are approved for the Workforce Pathways LA (WPLA) Stipend Program’s 21-Hour Professional Development Pathway

California approval ensures that early educators, program leaders, and providers receive relevant, high-quality coursework aligned with state-recognized competencies and training needs.

State Registry Credit

ChildCareEd is an approved training organization on the California Early Care & Education Workforce Registry. This means:

  • California providers may apply ChildCareEd coursework toward annual professional growth hours, licensing-related ongoing training, and permit renewal (with Professional Growth Advisor approval).
  • Course completion data is uploaded weekly to the Registry when users add their Registry ID to their ChildCareEd account. Providers should allow 5+ business days for the course to appear in their Registry transcript.
  • ChildCareEd courses are recognized as valid professional development activities for California’s early childhood workforce.

IACET Accreditation – Accepted Nationwide

ChildCareEd is an IACET Accredited Provider, granting CEUs (Continuing Education Units) for all eligible courses.
This ensures:

  • Training hours meet the ANSI/IACET Standard, the highest standard for continuing education
  • CEUs earned with ChildCareEd are accepted across California and nationwide
  • Coursework qualifies for professional development needs across child care centers, family child care homes, school-age programs, and early education organizations

IACET accreditation adds an additional layer of validation recognized by:

  • The Council for Professional Recognition (CDA Credential)
  • National and state early childhood organizations
  • Employers and training coordinators seeking verified CEUs
