We are seeking a passionate, organized, and community-oriented Assistant Director of Early Childhood Education to support the leadership and daily operations of a vibrant Jewish early childhood center. This full-time position blends administrative leadership, curriculum support, staff development, and family engagement in a nurturing, play-based, and values-driven environment.

This role is ideal for someone enthusiastic about early learning, deeply committed to building community, and ready to shape the lives of children, families, and educators through a developmentally appropriate and Jewish values-infused approach.

Key Responsibilities, Leadership & Administration

Support daily school operations and serve as Acting Director when needed.
Collaborate on strategic planning and operational goal setting.
Ensure compliance with MSDE state licensing and Maryland Excels standards.
Contribute to mentoring, supervising, enrollment, documentation, and scheduling.
Curriculum & Program Development

Assist with implementing developmentally sound, inclusive curriculum that integrates Jewish traditions and values.
Support #teachers in creating engaging, child-centered lesson plans.
Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom and outdoor environment.
Staff Support & Supervision

Participate in hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and evaluating staff.
Foster a culture of collaboration, professional growth, and intentional teaching. Lead team meetings and ensure staff meet all training and licensing requirements.
Family & Community Engagement

Build strong, respectful relationships with families through daily interactions and special events.
Conduct tours, assist with enrollment, and participate in outreach efforts.
Support synagogue-community alignment to strengthen Jewish identity and continuity in learning.
Support the Family Teacher Organization (FTO) and help foster strong community bonds. Collaborate with FTO for Community events.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
2–3 years of teaching experience in #early-childhood-education (preferably 2 years of leadership experience)
Familiarity with MSDE licensed childcare regulations
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Google Workspace, Canva, Constant Contact, and school management software.
Knowledge of or willingness to learn Jewish traditions, holidays, and values.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $45,000
