Who Needs Michigan Child Care Training?

Whether you are a new child care employee, program director, lead caregiver, assistant caregiver, or family/group home licensee, ChildCareEd offers approved courses that help you meet Michigan’s training rules outlined by the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA).

Michigan licensing rules require:

• 10 annual training hours for licensees
• 5 annual training hours for child care staff and assistants

Approved Michigan Child Care Training

Pre-Service Health & Safety Courses — Required by LARA

Michigan requires new child care staff and home providers to complete training in nine federally mandated health and safety topics, including:
