How to Become an Infant/Toddler Lead Caregiver in a Michigan Child Care Center?

The Michigan Infant/Toddler Lead Caregiver Career Program gives you the specialized training and qualifications to lead infant and toddler classrooms in licensed child care centers, including a total of 9 CEUs in Early Childhood Education with 45 hours of infant/toddler-specific training. Built for caregivers focused on responsive care and developmentally appropriate practices, this program ensures full compliance with Michigan regulations.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be at least 19 years old.
- Hold a high school diploma or GED.
- Have 3,840 hours of documented experience with young children.
- Complete within 6 months of hire.
- Must pass a background check.
- Complete 16 hours of annual professional development.
