Effective communication is essential for child care providers working with school-aged children and their families, especially when conducting parent conferences. This training covers how to plan and structure productive conferences, what common pitfalls to avoid, and strategies to overcome barriers to communication, including those specific to intercultural interactions. Participants will also explore methods to boost parent involvement and apply listening and communication techniques that foster stronger family partnerships. By strengthening these skills, child care providers will be better equipped to support children's development and build positive, collaborative relationships with families.
