Los cuidadores están obligados a completar 24 horas reloj de formación previa al servicio. Ocho horas reloj de las 24 requeridas deben completarse antes de que a un cuidador se le asigne la responsabilidad de un grupo de niños. Las 16 horas restantes de formación previa al servicio deben completarse dentro de los 90 días de empleo. Este curso proporciona 16 horas de formación previa al servicio aprobada.

B. Objectives / Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this training, the learner will be able to:
  1. Identificar estrategias para proporcionar atención adecuada a bebés y niños pequeños con problemas de salud crónicos

  5. Describe common myths and facts about safe sleep for infants and young toddlers.

  7. Explique las pautas adecuadas sobre el uso de la cuna para que los cuidadores garanticen un sueño seguro para bebés y niños pequeños.
  8. Identificar formas de interactuar de manera respetuosa y apropiada en una variedad de contextos culturales
  9. Identificar teóricos de la orientación y la disciplina
  10. Explique las posibles causas y las consecuencias de la lesión cerebral traumática en lactantes y niños pequeños.
  11. Describe la importancia del desarrollo de habilidades socioemocionales en los niños que ingresan al jardín de infancia.
  12. Defina la resiliencia e identifique formas en que ésta ayuda a los niños pequeños a superar estresores tóxicos.

  16. Dé ejemplos de estrategias que los cuidadores pueden utilizar para garantizar hábitos de sueño seguros y prevenir SIDS/SUIDS en lactantes.
  17. Dé ejemplos de estrategias para prevenir lesiones cerebrales traumáticas en lactantes y niños pequeños.
  18. Identificar estrategias para promover principios sólidos de salud y seguridad en el cuidado infantil.
  19. Identificar los diferentes conceptos de aprendizaje relacionados con el juego de bloques.
  20. Describe cómo los materiales, el equipo, el entorno y el personal satisfacen las necesidades individuales de los niños
  21. Distinguir las preocupaciones de seguridad apropiadas en interiores
  22. Distinguir las preocupaciones apropiadas sobre la seguridad al aire libre
  23. Definir el desarrollo socioemocional en niños pequeños
Criteria to earn CEUs:
Certificates are awarded when the following criteria have been met by the learner:
  1. Class has been paid in full
  2. All material has been reviewed
  3. All review questions and final test have been completed with a passing score of 80% or higher.
Learning Assessment Method:
Learners will be assessed through questions after every section is completed. Learners will not be allowed to proceed to the next section of the training until all questions have been answered correctly. Learners will be presented with a final test composed of true/false and multiple choice questions. Upon successful completion of the training, learners will receive their certificate by email.
Learning Methodology:
Online material will be presented in the form of slides, accompanied with speech. Videos will be used to demonstrate ideas and concepts. Charts and tables will be used for illustration.
Logistics/Required Technology:
A stable internet connection is required for the completion of this course. Users are highly encouraged to take their online course on Google Chrome on either a laptop or desktop computer. Speakers and/or headphones are also required to hear speech.
