Virtual Class Only Until June 30th: In Maryland, anyone who suspects that a child is being abused or neglected has a legal obligation to report it. Childcare providers are required to report suspicion of abuse or neglect within 48 hours.
Objectives / Learning Outcomes:
A Child Care Provider is anyone licensed or certified by the state or works for an agency or facility licensed or certified by the state and has contact with children as a result of their normal duties. By law, professionals may not delegate their duty to report to another person such as a coworker or family member. This course will cover signs of child abuse and neglect and reporting guidelines.
By the end of this training, the learner will be able to:
- Identify the signs of child abuse and neglect
- Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate reporting process
- Identify the appropriate forms and procedures for reporting child abuse and neglect
Online material will be presented in the form of slides,
accompanied with speech. Videos will be used to demonstrate ideas and concepts. Charts and tables
will be used for illustration.
No prerequisites are required for the completion of this course.

Learners will be assessed through questions after every section is completed. Learners will not be
allowed to proceed to the next section of the training until all questions have been answered correctly.
Learners will be presented with a final test composed of true/false and multiple choice questions.
Upon successful completion of the training, learners will receive their certificate by email.
