Georgia-Approved Child Care Training You Can Trust (TR-ASO-76)

If you work in child care in Georgia, staying current with training requirements is essential for licensing, employment, and professional growth. ChildCareEd is an approved training organization recognized by the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) – Bright from the Start and listed in GaPDS as an Approved Training Sponsor Organization (TR-ASO-76). That means your completed training hours and certificates are officially recognized for Georgia licensing and professional development.

ChildCareEd courses are approved to meet Georgia’s requirements for:

  • Child Care Learning Centers (CCLCs)
  • Family Child Care Learning Homes (FCCLHs)

We also hold IACET Accreditation, the gold standard in continuing education. This ensures your CEUs meet ANSI/IACET standards and are accepted not only throughout Georgia, but nationwide.

Pre-Service Training

Georgia requires specific preservice training for new staff and FCCLH providers before or during employment/licensure. ChildCareEd offers approved online courses such as:

These courses meet DECAL requirements for new staff in learning centers and registered family child care providers.

40-Hour Director’s Course

To qualify as a Child Care Learning Center Director, Georgia requires completion of a 40-Hour Director’s Course. ChildCareEd’s online director program meets DECAL’s standards for leaders responsible for daily operations, staffing, compliance, and curriculum oversight in licensed centers.

Annual Training for Georgia Child Care Providers (10 Hours)

Georgia requires 10 hours of annual training each calendar year (January–December) for all child care professionals, including teachers, assistants, and directors.

In addition, all Georgia teaching staff must complete two (2) annual Early Language & Literacy training hours. ChildCareEd offers multiple DECAL-approved literacy courses that count toward this requirement, including:

With ChildCareEd, you can complete all 10 annual hours online—including the required literacy hours—on your schedule.

CDA Credential & Renewal Courses

ChildCareEd offers complete CDA Credential and CDA Renewal training online, aligned with Georgia DECAL and Council for Professional Recognition standards. Choose from:

These courses support both CDA credentialing goals and Georgia’s annual professional development requirements.
