ChildCareEd is an approved training organization by Northern Lights and trainings can count toward training hours in Vermont. Courses may be used to fulfill annual training requirements for those working in child care centers and family child care homes.

Director education requirements:

• Vermont Early Childhood and Afterschool Program Director Credential Step Two (2) or Three (3)

Teacher education requirements:

• Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level Four (4) A or B Certificate

Teacher Associate education requirements:

• At least a Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level Three (3) Certificate

Teacher Assistant education requirements:

• CDA (Child Development Associate) cre4dential and at least twelve (12) months experience working with groups of children from grade three (3) or younger

Family Child Care Home Operator

• CDA (Child Development Association Credential)

CDA Training:

• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential can be used to meet education requirements for a Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level Two (2) Certificate.

Annual Training requirements for all child care workers:

• All staff shall complete fifteen (15) clock hours of annual professional development activities

• Plus: Unlimited online training plus online CDA training courses
• Instructor-Led: Unlimited online training, plus all CDA online training courses, and one Virtual Class each month led by a trained Educational Specialist
