Those childcare providers working in facilities caring for infants 12 months and under are required to complete 2-hours of initial training in Reducing the Risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

H&H Child Care Training Center is providing Reducing the Risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, a 2-hour training course specific to Nevada providers. This course is being offered to Nevada providers free of charge.

This course has been approved by the Nevada Registry Approval Code: 88422. *This training can be taken to meet the initial training requirement for SIDS (applicable to those working in facilities caring for infants 12 months and under).*

Understanding the safest way to care for infants is an essential part of caregiving. Safe sleep practices help to decrease the chances of SIDS or other serious injuries. This course outlines research-based safe sleep practices and Nevada Administrative Code in regard to infant sleep.

Participants will be able to:

  • Describe common myths and facts about safe sleep for infants and young toddlers.
  • Explain appropriate crib guidelines for caregivers to ensure safe sleep for infants and young toddlers.
  • Define Nevada laws and regulations for safe sleep practices.
