H&H Child Care Training Center provides Emergency Preparedness and Response Planning Resulting from a Natural or Man-Made Event, a 2-hour training course specific to Nevada providers. This course is being offered to Nevada providers free of charge.

This course has been approved by the Nevada Registry, Approval Code: 88438. *This training can be taken to meet the initial training requirement for Emergency Preparedness.*

Childcare providers may be faced with a number of different types of emergency or disaster situations. When caring for young children, it is important that providers remain calm and follow established protocols and procedures to maintain the safety of staff and students. Preparing and planning are the best ways to manage during and after an emergency.

By the end of this training, the learner will be able to:

  • Describe the components of emergency preparedness in the child care setting.
  • Give examples of strategies caregivers can teach young children to cope with grief in healthy ways.
  • Describe the appropriate response for natural disasters and other events.
  • Define Emergency Preparedness and Response Planning
