Understanding proper nutrition is vital for promoting healthy growth and development in children. This course equips child care providers with the knowledge to meet the nutritional needs of children from infancy to age 12, using the USDA MyPlate guide as a foundation. Participants will learn to interpret food labels, ensure proper food storage and preparation, and address common concerns such as food allergies and feeding challenges. By mastering these skills, providers can create safe, balanced meal plans that foster children's well-being and support family dietary goals. This training ensures providers are prepared to offer optimal care, meeting both nutritional and safety standards in their settings.

*Nevada Providers: This is an Advanced level Wellness training aligned with the Nevada Early Childhood Obesity Prevention (ECOP) Workgroup guidelines effective February 1, 2025, and fully satisfies the annual Lifelong Wellness training requirement of Child Care Licensing.*
