It also helps determine how we manage stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices. It is important to remember that mental health is just as important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood, and every individual can experience a change in their mental health. Although the terms are often used interchangeably, poor mental health and mental illness are not the same. A person can experience poor mental health and not be diagnosed with a mental illness. Likewise, a person diagnosed with a mental illness can experience periods of physical, mental, and social well-being. So it is important to know and understand exactly what is afflicting you and your overall health.
Our overall heath depends on how mentally and physically healthy we are. For example, depression increases the risk for many types of physical health problems, particularly long-lasting conditions like diabetes, heart disease and stroke. Similarly, the presence of chronic conditions can increase the risk for mental illness. As you can see, the two are interrelated and must be attended to. Just like we would go to the doctor for the flu or another type of illness, we must take care of our mental health as well if we are to live happy and healthy lives.

H&H Child Care Training courses are accepted by the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood towards the one percent of total annual hours worked of professional development requirements for those who work in family childcare homes, large family childcare homes and childcare facilities/centers. This includes directors, employees, operators, providers, and substitutes.
H & H Child Care Training Courses grant .2 CEUs or more as well as awarding state approved clock hours of 2 or more for all childcare centers, and family childcare providers. Please note, our Administration courses may be used for your professional development requirements; however, they cannot be used to meet the 3 college credits in administration required for program directors.
