Criteria to earn CEUs:
Certificates are awarded when the following criteria have been met by the learner:
  1. Class has been paid in full
  2. All material has been reviewed
  3. All review questions and final test have been completed with a passing score of 80% or higher.
Learning Assessment Method:
Learners will be assessed through questions after every section is completed. Learners will not be allowed to proceed to the next section of the training until all questions have been answered correctly. Learners will be presented with a final test composed of true/false and multiple choice questions. Upon successful completion of the training, learners will receive their certificate by email.
Learning Methodology:
Online material will be presented in the form of slides, accompanied with speech. Videos will be used to demonstrate ideas and concepts. Charts and tables will be used for illustration.
Logistics/Required Technology:
A stable internet connection is required for the completion of this course. Users are highly encouraged to take their online course on Google Chrome on either a laptop or desktop computer. Speakers and/or headphones are also required to hear speech.

Emergency and Disaster Preparedness – Online is a self-paced training designed to help child care professionals strengthen emergency readiness and meet state training requirements. The course includes an interactive training portion followed by a required Emergency Plan Form that you will complete and submit for review.

How to Complete This Course

  1. Finish the online training portion.
    Work through all lessons, videos, and required activities. You must complete the full training section before moving on to the plan.

  2. Access the Emergency Plan Form.
    Once the training portion is complete, an Emergency Plan Form will automatically become available inside your course.

    • This form is online and fillable (no printing required).

    • It is customized for child care settings and helps you apply what you learned.

  3. Complete the Emergency Plan Form online.
    Fill out every required section of the plan carefully and thoroughly. This plan becomes part of your course completion requirements.

  4. Submit your plan for review.
    After completing the form, submit it directly through the course. Your submission will be sent to the ChildCareEd review team.

  5. Plan review and feedback.
    Our team will review your Emergency Plan Form to ensure it meets course expectations. You will receive one of the following outcomes:

    • Approval: Your plan meets requirements, and you move to certification.

    • Revisions Needed: You’ll receive specific feedback with instructions for updating and resubmitting your plan.

  6. Receive your certificate.
    Once your Emergency Plan Form is approved and all course requirements are complete, your certificate will be issued.

Important: Completion of the Emergency Plan Form and review approval are required to finish this training and receive credit.
