ChildCareEd is an Approved Training Organization with the Center for Early Childhood Professional Development (CECPD #34110). Our courses are accepted by Oklahoma Human Services (OKDHS) – Child Care Services and may be used statewide for:

  • Formal and informal training hours
  • Pre-service and ongoing annual professional development
  • Oklahoma Professional Development Ladder (OPDL) requirements (Levels 1–11)
  • Director, Master Teacher, and Caregiver training requirements
  • Bronze-Level Director Credential maintenance

ChildCareEd’s CECPD-approved training is accepted for professionals working in child care centers, school-age programs, part-day programs, summer day camps, family child care homes, large family homes, and residential child care facilities across Oklahoma.

ChildCareEd also delivers high-quality professional development as an IACET-Accredited Provider, supporting CEUs that are widely recognized and portable.

Pre-Service and Orientation Training (Required Topics)

Oklahoma requires extensive pre-service training that includes the federally mandated health and safety topics. ChildCareEd offers CECPD-approved online courses covering Oklahoma’s required pre-service subjects, including:

Annual Training for Oklahoma Child Care Providers (OPDL Renewal)

All teaching personnel must complete annual professional development to maintain their OPDL certificate. Oklahoma training expectations include:

  • 12 clock hours to obtain OPDL Level 1
  • 12 hours annually to renew Level 1
  • 60 hours to obtain OPDL Level 2
  • 20 hours annually to renew Levels 2–11

ChildCareEd’s CECPD-approved courses can be used toward these annual training needs.

Registry Information

State Registry Credit – CECPD Oklahoma Professional Development Registry (OPDR)

ChildCareEd is integrated with the Oklahoma Professional Development Registry (OPDR) to help ensure your training is properly documented for licensing, employment, and OPDL progression.

To receive registry credit:

  1. Add your OPDR Registry ID to your ChildCareEd account
  2. Complete any Oklahoma-approved ChildCareEd course
  3. ChildCareEd uploads attendance weekly
  4. Your hours appear in OPDR within 5 business days

CDA Credential Training

CDA Credential & Renewal Courses (Accepted for OPDL Level 5)

Oklahoma recognizes the Child Development Associate (CDA) as meeting significant career ladder training requirements, and CDA credentials are accepted for OPDL Level 5.
