Child care providers need a clear grasp of where our field comes from, how it works today, and how personal values shape daily decisions with children and families. This course explores the historical, philosophical, theoretical, and social roots of early childhood and how those foundations guide current practice. You’ll examine current issues and trends, the organizational structures and settings across the field, and essential laws and policies. Through guided reflection and anti-bias work, you’ll strengthen equitable, legally informed practice and build confidence to collaborate, advocate, and lead.

*Illinois Providers: This training has been approved to align to ECE Gateways Credential,ECE PPD2: Describes historical and present-day representations of the fields of early childhood general education, early childhood special education, and early intervention and how individual experiences and values influence perspective and practice within these fields.*
