As an approved Sponsor Agency, ChildCareEd’s courses:

  • Meet the Wyoming Child Care Licensing Rules (Chapter 4 & Chapter 5) for required health and safety topics and ongoing professional development.
  • Are fully accepted for pre-service training, 32-hour biennial training requirements, infant and toddler specialized credits, and director/owner training requirements.

Approved Wyoming Child Care Training

Pre-Service Health & Safety Courses — Required by DFS & STARS

Wyoming requires pre-service training in 12 federally aligned health & safety topics, including:

Director & Family Child Care Owner Training 

Directors and owners must:

  • Complete all required pre-service topics
  • Complete 32 training credits every two years, regardless of direct care hours
  • Family Child Care Home (FCCH) owners must complete 6 additional training credits prior to licensing

Infant & Toddler Training Requirements

Wyoming licensing requires:

When 4 or more infants are present:

  • At least one staff member must have an Infant/Toddler Credential recognized by DFS
  • This credentialed staff must be onsite at least 50% of the work week
  • Two staff must be present at all times

Annual Infant/Toddler Specialized Training

  • Staff working directly with infants: 4 training credits every year
  • All other staff caring for infants: 2 training credits every year

Annual Training Requirements (32 Credits Every Two Years)

Wyoming requires all child care providers to complete 32 approved training credits within each two-year licensing cycle.

Eight (8) Core Required Credits

Training must include ALL of the following:

Twenty-Four (24) Elective Credits
