These programs are going above and beyond the licensing requirements for child care in the state of Texas. As programs move toward this Certification, program staff are required to complete additional training and education. With the CDA Credential, Texas educators will fulfill the necessary requirements for staff in programs with the Texas Rising Star Certification.

Interested in obtaining the CDA Credential? The Child Development Associate® (CDA) Credential™ is the most widely recognized credential in early childhood education (ECE), and it is a key stepping stone on the path to career advancement in ECE. The CDA® is based on a core set of competency standards that guide early childhood professionals toward becoming qualified educators of young children.

H&H Child Care Training Center (ChildCareEd) offers the CDA Credential for Preschool, Infant/Toddler, and Family Child Care. The 120 hours of training are taken online in a self-paced format. H&H also has CDA Professional Development Specialists on staff who can advise you on your journey.

For those providers looking to renew their CDA Credential, H&H (ChildCareEd) offers the CDA Renewal for Preschool, Infant/Toddler, and Family Child Care. After receiving their CDA credential, child care professionals must complete coursework to renew every three years before their credentials expire. The CDA Renewal is 45 clock hours of training to keep providers current with best practices.
