Earn your CDA
Qualifications
Providers must be at least 18 years old, pass comprehensive background checks (including fingerprinting through Missouri State Highway Patrol MACHS/IDEMIA), and attend a mandatory orientation about child care in Missouri, licensing rules, and training requirements.
They also must hold A minimum of a CDA credential
Required Health and Safety Trainings:
- Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases
- Prevention of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and Use of Safe Sleep Practices
- Administration of Medicine
- Prevention of and response to allergic reactions
- Building and Physical Premises Safety
- Shaken Baby Syndrome
- Responding to Emergencies
- Handling and Storage of Hazardous Materials
- Appropriate Precautions in Transportation of Children
- Abuse and Neglect: Signs and Reporting
Safe Sleep Training must be completed:
- Within 30 days of hire
- Every three (3) years thereafter
