Annual Training Requirements for Virgin Islands Child Care Providers

According to the DHS Rules & Regulations:

Directors (Section 602):

✔ 24 hours annually, including administration, ECE best practices, safety, abuse prevention

Teachers & Assistant Teachers (Section 603):

✔ At least 24 hours annually, including child development, safety, abuse prevention

School-Age Directors (Section 604):

✔ 12 hours annually, with 1 hour in child abuse/neglect

School-Age Staff (Section 605):

✔ 6 hours annually, including child development, guidance, special needs, safety, and legal topics

General Staff (Section 608):

✔ Minimum 15 hours annually

• Instructor-Led: Unlimited online training, plus select CDA online training courses, and one Virtual Class each month led by a trained Educational Specialist
