Free Health and Safety Orientation for Alaska providers - post

Alaska providers are required to obtain Health and Safety Orientation training from a training program approved by the department. Health and Safety Trainings must meet specific content area requirements and be approved by the Child Care Program Office in order to be added to Alaska's Approved Health and Safety Trainings list.

The following ChildCareEd trainings have been approved to meet compliance with Health and Safety Orientation training requirements as described in 7 AAC 57.350 and have been added to Alaska's Approved Health and Safety Trainings list:

• Handling and Storage of Hazardous Materials (1 hour)
• Mandated Reporters (2 hours)
• Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (2 hours)
• Building and Physical Premises Safety (1 hour)
• Responding to Emergencies (2 hours)
• Shaken Baby Syndrome (3 hours)
• Prevention of and response to allergic reactions (1 hour)
• Administration of Medicine (2 hours).
• Appropriate Precautions in Transportation of Children (1 hour)
• Prevention of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and Use of Safe Sleep Practices (1 hour)
• Health and Safety Orientation Training Bundle (6 hours) This training contains all of the above topic areas and is a FREE course!
