ChildCareEd is proud to announce that we have been approved as a Texas Education Agency-approved Continuing Professional Education provider for Texas educators.
Our TEA CPE provider number is 910060.
This approval allows ChildCareEd to offer Continuing Professional Education, commonly known as CPE, to Texas educators who are working to renew their standard educator certificates.
Texas educators who hold standard educator certificates are required to complete CPE hours as part of the certificate renewal process. Texas standard certificates are valid for five years and must be renewed through the Educator Certification Online System, also known as ECOS. Renewal is based on completing the required number of CPE hours during the renewal period.
As a TEA-approved CPE provider, ChildCareEd may offer eligible professional development opportunities that support educator growth, classroom practice, child development, student support, and other topics connected to professional responsibilities.
Courses may be used toward Texas CPE requirements when the course content aligns with the educator’s certificate area and renewal needs.
Texas educators should always confirm their individual renewal requirements through TEA and their ECOS account. In general, common CPE requirements include:

Required CPE Hours
Classroom Teacher
150 hours
Principal, Superintendent, School Counselor, Librarian, Educational Diagnostician, or Reading Specialist
200 hours
Multiple Certificates, including classroom teacher, administrator, and/or student services certificates

CPE must directly relate to the certificate or certificates being renewed and should support the educator’s professional knowledge, skills, and responsibilities. Educators are also responsible for keeping documentation of completed CPE activities, such as certificates of completion, transcripts, attendance records, or similar documentation, for five years in case TEA requests it during a renewal audit.
