Preservice Training All providers regardless of position or setting must complete 24 hours of preservice training. Eight clock hours of the required 24 must be completed before a caregiver is given responsibility for a group of children. The remaining 16 hours of preservice training must be completed within 90 days of employment.
A caregiver is exempt from preservice training if they have at least two years of prior experience in a regulated child-care center, or documentation of at least 24 clock hours of training at another regulated child-care center.
