Course description:

Teaching diversity exposes students to various cultural and social groups, preparing students to become better citizens in their communities. The first step to teaching diversity involves reflecting on one’s own opinions and biases regarding people from different backgrounds and cultural groups. This leads to understanding diverse perspectives and incorporating them into decisions within an early childhood community or professional setting. This training will present culturally responsive teaching strategies that will help child care providers promote diversity, equity and inclusion in the classroom.
