In a #preschool center with infants or #toddlers in care, a director and any child care teacher wishing to supervise a group of infants and toddlers, in addition to meeting other requirements, shall have:

  1. 3 semester hours of approved training, or 45 hours, related to the care of infants and toddlers; and
  2. Approved training in supporting breastfeeding practices.

Intent: A Director of a center approved to care for infants, must have specific training regarding the care of infants and toddlers. A child care #teacher who supervises a group of infants or toddlers must have sufficient maturity and have completed training related exclusively to the care of infants and toddlers.

45-Hour Infant and Toddler Curriculum is the online version of the instructor-led Methods and Materials training and satisfies half of the MSDE requirement of 90 hours for child care teachers and directors. 

45 Hour Infant and Toddler Methods and Materials is the instructor-led version of the online Curriculum training and satisfies half of the MSDE requirement of 90 hours for child care teachers and directors. This course and a 45-hour #growth-and- #development course are required to complete the 90-hour certification for child care. If you have been issued a voucher from MSDE for this course it MUST be completed 2 weeks before the expiration date that is on your voucher. Please check your voucher for this date. Training Approval number PSO-30299 Aligns with MD Staff Credential levels 2-4. Earns 4.5 CEUs/45 clock hours.
