MSDE Licesning requires staff in any program approved for infant and toddler care (group and family programs) must complete approved training in breastfeeding practices. Course description:Welcome to “Supporting Breastfeeding in the Child Care Setting.” This 2-hour course will help you better understand the benefits of breastfeeding and how to support mothers who want to continue breastfeeding their children after returning to work or school. In addition you will learn the proper handling, storing, and feeding techniques for breast milk. This course meets the requirements for breastfeeding training for the Maryland State Department of Education. Please be aware that this training counts for 1 hour of Health, Safety, and Nutrition and 1 hour of Community in core of knowledge. Other breastfeeding classes that are less than 2 hours DO NOT count for core of knowledge. Course cost is $15 plus $5 registration. Discounted price for VIP $13 plus $5 registration. Travel fee for onsite training at your location is $50. This fee is waived for VIP members
