Core Requirements (all levels):
The Director Credential core requirements include the 30-Hour Part I DCF Introductory Child Care Training, 8 hours of in-service training regarding children with disabilities (DCF's Special Needs Appropriate Practices course meets this), and completion of an approved "Overview of Child Care Management" course. Beyond the core, applicants submit documentation for one of three levels based on education and work experience.
Three Credential Levels: Your education and experience determine which Director Credential level you are eligible for: Level I, Level II, or Advanced Level.
ChildCareEd Courses Approved:
ChildCareEd offers the 45-Hour Director-Administration course and Special Needs Appropriate Practices coursework to support the director pathway, plus CDA programs for the Staff Credential prerequisite.
