Description
Use this printable shape observation checklist to notice children’s learning during everyday play, routines, or planned activities. Designed for ages 3–6, it provides space to record the child or group, date, activity, and context, plus checkboxes for shape recognition and naming, sorting and matching by color or shape, descriptive language, and persistence. Educators can capture children’s words, strategies, engagement, and helpful supports as a snapshot—not a formal test. Keep it on hand during play-based exploration to document emerging shape skills and plan responsive next steps.
