In this course, students will review and understand the importance of community, diversity, and acceptance in home daycare and in the
classroom. Upon successful completion of this course, students will earn 3 hours of Special Needs CKO.
Students will cover the following objectives:
1. Identify barriers and how they can be removed: Read and interpret an Individual Family Support Plan and/or and Individual Education Plan.
2. Develop a resource guide for resources and referrals for infants and toddlers and children with a suspect/diagnosed disability.
3. Identify possible barriers students with disabilities may face.
4. Identify different theoretical and legal foundations for special programs. This training is approved for 3 Hours of Special Needs Core of Knowledge.
