School Age children do not have to be a mystery any longer within your after school program! Teachers must build strong, nurturing relationships with families to better understand the children in their classroom. In this course, teachers will learn how to identify ways to understand the elements of positive respectful relationships and effective communication that includes warm nurturing interactions with children; demonstrate understanding of positive guidance
techniques that promote social competence and prosocial behavior; demonstrate an understanding of how to establish positive relationships with children, co-workers, families, and community members; and identify strategies to increase parent involvement and communicating with parents and families.
