License Types
Family Child Care Home serves a small number of children in the provider's residence; a Large Family Child Care Home License is for providers caring for 7–12 children in their residence, meeting stricter requirements.
Required Training
- DCF 40-Hour (or 30-hour Family Child Care) Introductory Training through the state portal
- 5-hour Early Literacy training
- CPR & First Aid
- 10 hours of annual in-service training (per fiscal year)
- Level 2 background screening for operator and household members
CDA:
ChildCareEd's CDA Family Child Care Credential supports home providers after the state introductory training is complete.
