🎓 What Are the Requirements to Become a Teacher in Nebraska?

All providers and staff who work directly with children are required to complete training related to the following content areas:

 

Non-certified Teachers requirements: 

Requirements can vary depending on the type of program—whether it’s licensed child care, public pre-K, Head Start, or private preschool—but in general, you’ll need:

  • Formal #early-childhood-education training

  • Experience working with young children

  • A background check, CPR/First Aid certification, and possibly continuing education hours

  • CDA Credential (Child Development Associate) is widely accepted and recognized across Nebraska

💡 Tip: Head Start programs in Nebraska require a CDA or higher degree in #early-childhood education.
