Provider Requirement Levels

Alabama Child Development Credential (ACDC) This is a state-specific credential designed for child care providers who do not yet have a college degree but want to demonstrate professional competence. It consists of 12 credit hours (usually 4 specific college courses) in child development.

  • Steps to achieve: Enroll in a participating community college and complete the four required courses. Once passed, you receive the credential.

Reimbursable Training Information through the State

T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Alabama A scholarship program designed to increase your education level and compensation.

  • Description: Pays a large portion of tuition and books for the CDA, Associate, or Bachelor degrees.
  • How to apply: Contact the Alabama Partnership for Children to submit an application.
