Description
This flexible 20–25 minute teacher-guided lesson helps children ages 3–5 discover math in familiar places and daily routines. Children practice counting or matching groups, identifying basic shapes, sorting by one feature, comparing more, fewer, or the same, and noticing simple patterns and sequences. Gather classroom objects, picture and numeral cards, sorting trays, and art supplies to lead the activities in a classroom or small group. Use the discovery checklist to note what children show and adapt participation to each child’s preferred way.
