Emergency Helper Communication Cards: Practicing Clear Communication

This printable includes six communication cards and cut-apart practice prompts to help children rehearse what to say and do when emergency personnel arrive or answer the phone. Children practise staying calm, sharing their location and what happened, explaining who needs help, and listening to instructions. Use the cards with an adult or partner during safety lessons and emergency-plan practice, while following your centre’s procedures and local emergency number. Pair younger children with an educator and invite older children to read the cards and explain their choices.
