Letter Picture Sort: Beginning Sounds Activity for Ages 2–5

This 3-page printable lets you choose a focus letter and a picture, then sort picture cards by whether their names begin with that sound. Children practise listening for initial sounds, naming pictures, and early letter-sound awareness during a letter-of-the-week or small-group literacy activity. Use the cut-and-sort cards for hands-on practice, or offer the no-cut option by having children point to the matching category; supervise scissor use and provide help as needed.
