Fall Sensory Bin Exploration Prompts for Ages 2–5

Use these fall sensory-bin prompts to invite children ages 2–5 to notice, compare, and describe seasonal textures. Children practise sensory observation and descriptive language as they explore, compare two materials, and sort objects by texture, shape, or color. Set the prompts out during a closely supervised sensory-bin activity, with safe, age-appropriate materials and alternatives for children who prefer not to touch loose items.
