Maryland: MSDE Training Vouchers

💡 MSDE's training vouchers are BACK!!! We're thrilled to announce that MSDE is once again offering training vouchers to Maryland child care providers participating in the credential program at level two or higher - even if your credential expired between July 1, 2024 and August 30, 2025!

Get Reimbursed up to $400 for core of knowledge training across six domains!

What is the MSDE Training Voucher program?

This #grant opportunity is designed to financially support #early_childhood professionals in Maryland who participate in the Maryland Child Care Credential Program at Level Two or higher with the costs of training for professional development. Use a voucher up to $400 to cover the cost of one of the following training courses:

Growth and Development Birth-age 12
Infant and Toddler Curriculum
Preschool Curriculum
School Age Curriculum
Director-Administration
Family Child Care pre-service training

Applications for training vouchers can be submitted for the above pre-service training, registration at statewide and national child care conferences, or for approved early childchoold college coursework.

There are just a few easy steps to apply using Maryland One Stop and ChildCareEd will walk you through the process of applying for a training voucher.

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for the MSDE Training Voucher, you must:

✅ Participate in the Maryland Child Care Credential program at a level two or higher. This means you have completed at least 45 clock hours of knowledge training and one Professional Activity Unit (PAU). Since the credentialing program was paused, they are also accepting applications to those who had a Level 2 or higher credential that expired between July 1, 2025 and August 30, 2025.
✅ Be employed full or part-time in a Maryland-licensed child care center or a registered family child care home

What Expenses Are Covered?

✅ Up to $400 in vouchers to cover the cost of pre-service training. ChildCareEd offers 6 trainings that are approved by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) for this funding program.

💸 You may also choose to use a voucher to cover the cost of registration at statewide or national child care conferences, or approved early childhood college coursework.
