Provider Requirement Levels.

Children's Program Administrator Credential (CPAC) A credential for directors that verifies leadership and management skills (18 college credits).

  • Steps to achieve: Complete the required 18 credits of management coursework at a participating college and apply for the credential.

Reimbursable Training Information through the State.

Educational Incentive Program (EIP) A grant that may help to pay for training costs (like ChildCareEd courses) and college tuition based on your income.

  • How to apply: Submit an EIP application via the Professional Development Program (PDP) website before your course begins.

Opening a Childcare Facility in New York

  • Agency: Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) - Division of Child Care Services.

  • Website: OCFS Child Care Licensing

  • Steps: You must complete the Online Child Care Orientation (approx. 1.5 hours) on the OCFS website before you can request an application.

Training we do not offer

  • NYS Mandated Reporter: New York requires the specific free course hosted on the nysmandatedreporter.org site.

  • 15-Hour Health & Safety: Must be taken from an OCFS-approved trainer (verify approval status for specific vendors).
