The Ark Children’s Center at Oakdale Church in Olney, MD is seeking a motivated self-starter for a Preschool Director position at our Center.

Required Educational Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, and management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool.

The candidate must have exemplary leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and a good understanding of age-appropriate activities for young children.

Our teachers are highly qualified childhood educators who are able to use their creativity and The Ark curriculum as the basis for unique Christian lesson plans that are brought to life in a fun and imaginative way.

The Director's responsibilities encompass all aspects of childcare center operation and management. The Director will have to deliver the results relating to:
• Overseeing educational goals along with preschool operations including human resources, quality assurance, and facility operations
• Develop strong relationships with our families & faculty
• Managing a budget and licensing & marketing activities
• Positive and upbeat attitude while working in a fast-paced environment
• Highly effective organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
• Deep love for Jesus, children, and a strong commitment to education.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• BS in Education or related field
• 3-5 years of supervised experience working with preschool children in a licensed facility
• Over 1-2 years prior Managerial Experience in a Preschool setting
• Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
• Can-do attitude, self-starter, and able to deliver results
• Aptitude for technology in education
• Comprehensive knowledge of Accreditation and Maryland State licensing requirements
• Commitment to Professional Development for self and staff
• Positive and upbeat attitude
• Highly effective organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
Compensation is commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience.
