Course description:
When providers know the risks of unsafe sleep, as well as other factors that increase or decrease the likelihood of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, they are better prepared to mitigate them through intentional planning of the sleep environment and can support families in establishing healthy routines and practices that further lower the risk of SIDS. In this 2-hour in-person/Zoom training, family child care providers and infant daycare teachers will gain valuable information on facts regarding SIDS, the major risk factors of SIDS, the ways they can diminish or eliminate the risks, and develop strategies to understand and work with families of diverse cultures with differing opinions and practices regarding infant sleep.
