Educational Incentive Program (EIP) Scholarship for New York Child Care Providers

Eligibility Requirements:

Scholarship eligibility is based on current employment, the training and the training organization that are chosen, and the applicant's household income. Child care providers may apply for multiple scholarships within the current year until they reach their maximum annual scholarship amount.

The maximum annual award amounts are::

CDA and all other pre-approved credential training $2,500

CPR/FA $125 classroom, $95 online with face-to-face skills testing component

Trainings, conferences, and workshops $700

How to apply: 

Step 1: Choose ChildCareEd as your training organization and your course and complete the EIP Application.

EIP must verify your name, social security number (SSN), family size and your household adjusted gross income. Your submitted IRS Form 1040 is used for verification purposes.

• Electronic: Go to www.ecetp.pdp.albany.edu to create your account and complete an EIP application. Please make sure that you have all supporting documents ready before you start the application: you are expected to upload all of them during the application process.
• Paper: Complete and send in your paper application and mail it with all of your required supporting documents.

Step 2: Allow 4-6 weeks for EIP to process your application.

Step 3: Check your inbox or spam/junk folder notifying you of your award or if you need to submit additional documents. (Note: you may receive multiple emails.)

Step 4: Electronically sign your award using the link provided in your award email within 60 days from the issue date. Your award is automatically canceled if you do not sign.

Step 5: ChildCareEd will receive an email notification of your award. ChildCareEd will electronically sign the award within 90 days

Step 6: You will be notified of your course registration once ChildCareEd receives payment.

What if your award is expired? Contact EIP to request a reissued award.
